David Weintraub began his legal career in Miami with the law firm now known as Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, one of the largest firms in Florida. For six years, he worked in the firm’s Securities Arbitration and Litigation Group, where he defended major securities firms from legal actions brought by retail clients. He routinely represented securities firms in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings before the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the American Arbitration Association.
In 1991, David Weintraub joined Prudential Securities as in-house counsel for its Southern Region headquarters.
In his capacity as First Vice President, he represented Prudential Securities in court, in arbitration, and in regulatory inquiries and investigations. He remained with Prudential Securities until 1997, when he founded his own private practice in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Admitted to practice law in Florida since 1984, Nebraska since 2006, and New York since 2007, David Weintraub received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Vassar College in New York, and his J.D. from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey.
David Weintraub maintains a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV – very high to preeminent, highest rating available.
David Weintraub’s recent articles have appeared in The Florida Bar Journal, a publication of The Florida Bar, ActionLine, a publication of the Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section, The Nebraska Lawyer, a publication of the Nebraska Bar, and the Prairie Barrister, a publication of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys. He also publishes a monthly newsletter for professionals highlighting the most cutting edge developments in securities law.
David Weintraub continues his active involvement in the securities industry through membership in the Securities Industry Association’s Legal and Compliance Division. He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Broward County.
