Stockbroker Misconduct, Breach of Fiduciary Duty Lawyer in Palm Beach, Omaha

Home :: Attorney Profile

David A. Weintraub P.A.I began my legal career in Miami with the law firm now known as Ruden McClosky. For six years, I worked in the firm’s Securities Litigation Group, where I regularly tried cases on behalf of Wall Street’s largest securities firms. I routinely represented securities firms in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings before the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the American Arbitration Association.

In 1991, I had the opportunity to join Prudential Securities as in-house counsel for its Southern Region headquarters. In my capacity as First Vice President, I represented Prudential Securities in court, in arbitration, and in regulatory inquiries and investigations.

I remained with Prudential Securities until 1997, when I started my second stint in private practice. This time, instead of representing securities firms, I chose to dedicate my efforts on behalf of investors, both retail and institutional. Since 1997 I have represented hundreds of investors, in claims ranging in size from under $100,000.00, to more than $100 million. My clients have resided in numerous states, including Florida, New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois, Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Nebraska and Wisconsin. The vast majority of my arbitrations have been resolved via confidential settlements.

I have been admitted to practice law in Florida since October 1984, Nebraska since 2006, and New York since 2007. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Vassar College in New York, and in May 1984 my J.D. Degree from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey. I also attended Brandeis University for one semester.

I have an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell – very high to preeminent. This is Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating.

My recent articles have appeared in The Florida Bar Journal, a publication of The Florida Bar, ActionLine, a publication of the Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section, The Nebraska Lawyer, a publication of the Nebraska Bar, and the Prairie Barrister, a publication of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys. I also publish a periodic newsletter for professionals highlighting what I perceive to be interesting developments in securities law.

I reside in Davie, Florida, with my wife and two young sons.
